Analyze design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine project feasibility.Primary responsibilities:Design and oversee construction and maintenance of commercial or industrial metal buildings; work on contract documents and construction engineering software.Plans,schedules,conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.Performs work which involves design calculations for special metal building structures with a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.Work requires a broad knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties.Be able to design 1-10 complexity jobs in a reasonable time frame with a minimum amount of errors.Knowledge and application of design codes, and capability to assist less experienced engineers in understanding and addressing job plans and specifications.Assist others in analyzing and designing structural systems using standard techniques, standard details, and good engineering judgment.Supervise or coordinate the work of engineers,drafters,technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.Requirements:Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:Requires a B.S. in civil or structural engineering from an ECPD accredited curriculum,or equivalent, plus appropriate continuing education.4 - 6 years experience in metal building design.Engineer-in-Training or Registered Professional EngineerThe compensation package includes the following:Competitive salary based on experience level, including bonus, incentive and profit sharing plan.
